Music Director
Janis Harcar
Janis holds a Master of Arts degree in Arts Management from The University of Akron and a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Kent State University. In addition to her responsibilities of the Ravenna Community Choir, she directs the St. Paul Lutheran Chancel Choir also in Ravenna. Janis has been on the staff of Weathervane Playhouse in Akron Ohio since 1993 and currently holds the position of Director of Advancement. She has served the Playhouse as Interim Executive Director twice during her tenure, most recently for the 2006-2007 season. She was the recipient of Weathervane's Trustee Award in 2003 and again in 2007. She served as musical director for Annie in 1994 and Stephen Sondheim's Company in 1998, both at Weathervane. She has also served as musical director for The University of Akron and Actors Summit. She and husband Ray live in Kent. They have two children and three wonderful grandchildren.
